Campania is rich in culture, especially in regards to gastronomy, music, architecture, archeological and ancient sites. The food and dishes that are native to Campania, like Pizza, have been adopted by the rest of Italy, if not the world.
The capital of Campania is Naples. The Bay of Naples is dominated by the infamous volcano Vesuvius; on the slopes below lay the remains of its most famous victims: Pompeii.
The climate is typically Mediterranean along the coast, whereas in the inner zones it is more continental, with low temperatures in winter.
